Situated on the Kottayam -Kumarakom road, Lakshmi Hotel and Resorts is somewhat in the middle of Kumarakom main land. Perched on the banks of a sprawling paddy field the Hotel offers a panoramic view of rustic Kumarakom life. From here you can watch the swaying paddy fields with herds of ducks and other water birds, lofty coconut palms standing upright above the evergreen foliages of the mangroves and other wetland vegetarian, canoes and country boats sailing silently through the zigzagging waterways and the occasional call of a migratory bird, all livens up an image of that eternal beauty for which Kumarakom is much famous for. The Kumarakom Tourist Village offer house boat cruises and holiday packages. The serene lake comes alive during Onam with a spectacular water regatta - the snake boat races. It is indeed amazing to watch oarsmen, at least a hundred in one boat, slice their way through the waters to the fast rhythm of their own full throated singing.

Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary ( 16 Km from Kottayam town ): Located in the banks of the Vembanad Lake, the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, an ornithologist's paradise, is a favorite haunt of migratory birds like Siberian stroke, egret, darter, heron and teal. Other common varieties like the woodpecker, skylark, crane, water hens and parrots can also be spotted here. A cruise along the Vembanad lake is the best way to experience the sanctuary. Pathiramanal, an enhancing Island on the lake, can be accessed by boat from here. This is an island on the back waters is the home to many rare varieties of migratory birds. According to the mythology a young Brahmin dived in to the lake to perform his evening ablutions and the water made way for land to rise from below.

All the eight A/c cottages are fully furnished and elegantly kept so as to give the guest homely feeling of a comfort and privacy .All cottages and rooms are provided with direct dial telephones and cable TV. They are all bath attached with 24 hours running hot and cold water .Round the clock room service and laundry service are also provided.

AC Conference Hall

The conference hall is with all modern facilities and an ideal place to do business apart from of course holding private parties, and family get together. For large gatherings and bash -ups, the lawn is a better option.

Houseboat (Kettuvallam): Long before the coming of the rail and the road, waterways were the best mode of transport. Kuttanad rice was transported to nearby markets of Kottayam, Kollam and Cochin by long rice boats, which had a small hut for the boatman. These boats were called Kettuvallams. Some of these Kettuvallams have now been converted into luxury single and double bedrooms houseboats for cruises and over night stay in the backwaters.
