Vembanad Lake Villas is situated in the outskirts of Vaikom, a backwater and canal laced town in Kerala. It is a medium sized town, located on the banks of Vembanad Lake. The famous Vaikom Satyagraha was organized here by Indian National Congress. This town located on the banks of majestic Vembanad Lake was the capital of erstwhile kingdom of Vadakkumku Rajas. Vaikom having an area of 8.73 sq kms has a vibrant population of around 56,000 people. Vaikom is known for the famous Siva temple which has an inseparable position in the cultural of Kerala. There are different versions about the antiquity and idol in the temple. The name Vaikom is believed to be originated from the word Vyakhrapadaram. The Ashtami festival of the Siva temple held on every year is very important and attracts lakhs of devotees from all over Kerala.
